Tauplitz Skigebiet Guide

Tauplitz is a traditional Austrian resort that has benefited from recent modernisation. It is located 1.5 hours southeast of Salzburg and 1.5 hours southwest of Linz airports. The resort is small and had a reputation for too many drags. However, 2 4-seater high speed chairs take you from the village to Tauplitzalm, where the remainder of the ski area can be accessed. From here a 6-seater and 4-seater chair allow access to all piste and off-piste slopes, with a few drag lift accessing the rest. It is seldom over-crowded at Tauplitz and it has some good on-piste and safe off-piste skiing to offer. The snow record at Tauplitz is 2nd to none with over 3m of snow the average each season.
