Tanvaldský Špičák Skigebiet Guide

Tanvaldský Špičák (sometimes called Špičák u Tanvaldu) is the biggest winter centre in the Jizerské hory mountains (there is another Špičák in the Šumava region) and often hosts downhill competitions. 8 tree-lined, north-facing runs begin at the 802m summit of Tanvaldský Špičák and end at 560m and access is much improved since the construction of a 4 seat Doppelmayr chair in 2004. The snow record is not especially good because of the modest altitude but there is good snowmaking coverage. Ski tickets here are also valid at two other resorts; Bedřichov and Severák. The Tanvaldský Špičák centre is connected to 80km of prepared cross-country skiing tracks at Jizerská magistrála.
