Palisades Tahoe Skigebiet Guide

The ski area formerly known as Squaw Valley (now Olympic Valley) and Alpine Meadows are now officially one resort with an all new name, Palisades Tahoe. The combined area has 6000 acres so can claim the biggest in Tahoe and one of the 5 biggest in North America. They are in the process of joining the two with a gondola, although there won’t be ski runs linking them. However, each area still operates independently.

Squaw Valley, in the USA, is the site of the VIII Winter Olympic Games held in 1960. Squaw Valley is one of the most legendary and sought after vacation destinations for those who love winter sports. Ski in/out condo-hotel luxury accommodations are available. 40 hotels are within 8 miles of Squaw Valley. Overnight facilities are in Tahoe City, 6 miles away and Truckee,9 miles. RVs are welcome at the resort but there are no hookups.
