Hi, am an English guy who's worked ski season's in France/Switzerland/Austria as a rep & resort manager, so hopefully I know what I'm talking about.
Went to La Bresse (La Bresse Hohneck) today, and the runs thenselves are pretty much ok, and yes I agree, it's an excellent place for a short ski.
A word of warning! Do not go there at weekends or in French school holidays. Leave well alone!
Today (Sunday) the place was bursting with thousands of French beginners on the lower slopes, many completely out of all control and many more not equipped correctly (saw one guy in jeans and a woman with a normal overcoat and 100s without hats/goggles or any form of eye protection; madness in the med/light and poor visability that was there today.
Basically, it's a death-trap on the lower slopes as you take you life in your hands picking a route through. In short:carnage. Ski La Breees (La Bresse Hohneck) at your peril!
